Pokemon Yellow: A Game For Everyone

Pokemon is a series based on the idea that people of all ages can play a handheld game on its own, but they are able to link their collection of games together. Once the players connected their systems, both could and have epic battles and beneficial trades. Pokemon Yellow Version: The Special Pikachu Edition brought users closer to the anime television series many adore.

After the player selects his or her main character, they begin their quest to be the very best Pokemon master. In touch with the televised series, yellow version allows the pokemon trainer to begin with a Pikachu to accompany them on their journey throughout the Kanto region. To be the best of the best, the user must find every pokemon and add it to their Pokedex, along with defeating each legendary gym leaders. Eventually they must face off in a battle of epic proportions against the infamous Elite Four.

This game, in the long chain of the franchise, has the unique feature to posses the starter pokemon, Pikachu, following the trainer outside of its pokeball. The young trainer eventually meets many cameo characters from the animated show, like the rock gym leader Brock, and water master Misty. Along with many upgraded visuals and game enhancements to its predecessors, Yellow had mini games that allowed the trainer to play more with their Pikachu.

The Pokemon trainer from Pallet Town, the user’s home town, has the ultimate goal to become the greatest Pokemon Master in the land by collecting all eight badges and defeating the Elite Four. The main character has a rival who changes his pokemon in accordance to how the player chooses to play out their adventure. The player is also out to stop the horrible Team Rocket during their travels, as this organization seeks to use pokemon for evil.

This version takes many points from the widely viewed anime show to include in not only their gameplay, but in their story as well. The player gets to have a Pikachu to tag along on their quest and will meet many famous characters from said show. Jesse and James are the most infamous villains in the television show, and their appearance in the game almost makes the player feel like they are in the show themselves.

Pikachu is the most recognized monster in all of the Pokemon franchise, to the point where this cute creature has actually become the mascot of the pokemon realm. This game was the first in its series that allowed the monsters to stand and walk outside of their pokeballs during play. Pikachu’s adorable squeaking and animated emotions that are portrayed throughout the entire story makes this particular version quite memorable.

Pokemon, or Pocket Monsters, are here to stay in pop culture and for good reasons too. This franchise has been through much and still is able to come up and release more games without letting the series grow old and stale. Pokemon Yellow is an excellent game for all ages and anyone can find something to enjoy.
